Scout Key is skinny island 1-1/2 miles long. It is home to the Girl Scout and Boy Scout camps and the Spanish Harbor Boat Ramp and Wayside Park on the west end. And the Horseshoe swimming hole and South Bahia Honda Bridge park and overlook on the east end. Views of the water and bridges from any of these spots are spectacular. As part of the Overseas Heritage Trail, a boardwalk pathway through the mangroves was erected in 2015 from the Horseshoe parking lot to the Bahia Bridge connecting the two parks together.
